JACK BALL obituary

Jack Ball, 72, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home with Pastor Michael O'Hearn officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jack's honor may be made to the MSU-Northern Alumni Association, P.O. Box 7751, Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Jack was born March 16, 1937, in Shelby, Mont., to L.V. and Ruth (Allen) Ball. He married Delores Fink on Jan. 19, 1958, in Cut Bank, Mont. They moved to Havre in 1960 where he at tended Nor ther n Montana College. After finishing college he taught school for six years at Box Elder Public Schools. Later he became a rural mail carrier delivering mail to north and south Havre residents until his retirement in 1989. He was preceded in death by his father, L.V. Ball; mother, Ruth Lux; and a brother, Jerry Ball. Jack is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delores Fink Ball, of Havre, Mont.; a son, Steven (Jill) Ball of Clarkston, Wash.; daughters, Lorraine (Kevin) Johnson and Kathleen (Chris) Gorder, both of Havre, Mont.; sisters, Janice (Milt) Garrett of Hudson, Fla., and Lynda Johnson of Great Falls, Mont.; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Hannah Ball, Nick, Erika and Cody Johnson, Jennifer and Kari Gorder; and many nieces and nephews.
