Lois (Lafrantz) Malone, 85, of Havre, passed away May 29, 2010, at North Montana Care Center of natural causes.

C r e - m a t i o n has taken place under the care of Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
L o i s was born Oc t . 1 2 , 1 9 2 4 , i n Chinook, Mont., to A r t h u r a n d Ca r o l i n e Lafrantz.
S h e graduated with honors from C h i n o o k High School in 1942. During World War II, Lois and a girlfriend went to Fort Lewis, Wash., and worked in a service station. She always said that was the best job she ever had.
She returned to Montana and married Donald O'Brien of Chinook in 1943. To that union, daughters Carolyn, Linda and Patty were born.
They were later divorced and in 1959, she married Jim Malone. Together they had one daughter, Michelle. Lois worked for Jack McLean at McLean Realty and Insurance for more than 35 years, eventually buying the business.
Lois was an avid reader and enjoyed sharing her books. She enjoyed camping and the outdoors.
She loved animals and nature and was always making sure her bird feeders were full.
She liked to listen to the birds sing while they ate. Lois had a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor. Her laugh and smile will be missed by all who loved her.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brothe r ; he r daught e r, Linda Harmon; and her husband, Jim Malone.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Arnie) Shulund, Patty (Ron) Harmon and Michelle Malone (Tim Lucas) all of Havre; grandchildren, Dale (Marlene) Shulund, Jay Shulund and Jimmy Lucas of Havre, Leah Shulund of Chesterton, Ind. , Joshua (Shellan) Rodriguez of Boise, Idaho, Aderly (Patrick) Murphy
