County seeks new deputy attorney

The Hill County Attorney's Office is looking for a new deputy attorney.

A job listing on the Havre Job Service Workforce Center website says the county office has one full-time deputy county attorney position open.

A representative of the office confirmed this morning that Lindsay Lorang worked her last day as deputy county attorney Wednesday.

Hill County Attorney Gina Dahl and Lorang did not return calls earlier this week asking for comment.

Dahl defeated Lorang and private attorney Randy Randolph in the Democratic primary for Hill County attorney in June.

Dahl has no opponent in the general election.

The Job Service posting lists the wages for the position as $44,000 to $52,000 a year. The applicant must have a law degree, and be certified or licensed as an attorney, and primarily would prosecute criminal cases and represents the Department of Public Health and Human Services in abuse and neglect cases, the listing says.

The deputy also would perform all duties of the county attorney in the absence of that official and the chief deputy Hill County attorney, or at the direction of the county attorney, the listing says.
