While serving in the Navy, I heard a new noun: blivot. Just a word description by my shipmates seemed funny, but Professor Thackeray's recent letter to the editor gives a much fuller explanation of the meaning of this noun. If you open his word package you are immediately aware of content of his blivot — it smelled to high heaven.
