A busy weekend of volleyball on the Hi-Line

If you're looking for a fix of high school volleyball, then the Hi-Line is the place to be this weekend.

Not one, but two major tournaments will be going on this weekend with the Chinook Invitational and the North Star Showcase.

The Chinook Invite will run today and Saturday at the Chinook gymnasium, and will feature several quality Class B teams like Malta and Glasgow, as well as Wolf Point. The Class C ranks will also be well-represented with Chinook, Chester/J-I and Valier in attendance.

The Chinook Invitational will feature round-robin play today and Saturday, then finish up with a single-elimination bracketed tournament on Saturday evening.

The same format will be used at two different venues for the North Star Showcase.

The Gildford Pool will feature Big Sandy, Sunburst, Geraldine, the Fort Benton JV's and the North Star JV's. The Rudyard Pool will be composed of North Star, Fort Benton, Hays-Lodge Pole, Dutton-Brady and the Geraldine JV's.

Pool play at both sights will start today at 12 p.m. and run through tonight.

Pool play continues at both sights at 8 a.m. Saturday morning and continues until around 11 a.m.

The teams from each pool will be bracketed against each other according to number of games won, and the tournament will run through Saturday night in Rudyard.
