The state Judicial Nomination Committee announced today the names of two local attorneys seeking to fill the local state district judge position.

Dan Boucher and Brian Lilletvetd, both of Havre, have applied to take the position being left by Judge David Rice.

Rice, 64, has announced his retirement effective the end of November.

The Nomination Committee screens applicants and then forwards three to five nominees to the governor, who then selects a nominee to appoint to the position.
