Bill Vaughey tourney on tap Saturday

Havre's longest-running community tennis tournament will take place this weekend.

The annual Bill Vaughey Memorial Tennis Tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Bill Vaughey Memorial Tennis Courts in Havre. The tournament, which has been put on by the Havre Parks and Recreation Department for over 30 years, was re-named 12 years ago in honor of longtime Havre tennis enthusiast Bill Vaughey, who was a huge supporter and donor to the local tennis community.

The tournament features junior and adult age divisions for both singles and doubles. There is also a mixed doubles bracket and a short court tournament for ages 12 and under.

Players have until 9 p.m. today to register for the tournament at the Havre Community Pool.
