Blue Ponies trounce CMR matmen in Great Falls

As the wrestling season progresses, the Havre High wrestling program continues to roll through the competition. The Central A Blue Ponies earned another dual win on Tuesday. This the time on the road, the Ponies defeat came over the Class AA CMR Rustlers 58-28. On the night, the Ponies lost only five matches. Against former Havre High standout Aaron Jensen's team. At 98 and 130 pounds they gave forfeits to the Rustlers Tanner Levanowski and Mike Budeski. At 135 pounds Cody West pinned Dillon Seely in 21 seconds, while at 215 pounds Chris Buck pinned Jared Ruttofsky in 5:20. The Rustlers also got a victory at 160 pounds, where Mitch Rohrback earned a 12-4 decision over Kameron Pribyl. For the most part, the Blue Ponies were dominant as usual. Zack Smith (119) won by forfeit, while Duell Stadel (112) earned a 15-0 major decision and Brett Normandy (125) earned an 18-2 major decision. Tuesday night the Ponies earned seven wins by way of the pin. Gilbert Bara (105) pinned Riley Wavra in 3:35, while Tyson Gruber (140) Pinned Cody Larson in 3:06 and Eli Hinebauch (145) pinned Sam Wavra in 2:48. Josh Salapich (189) pinned Ryan Otto in 4:24, and Casey Schaub (171) pinned Zane Patacsil in 5:00. Kent Pattison (152) and Mitch Schnittgen (285) made quick work of their Rustler opponent. Schnittgen pinned Cameron Farrel in 1:42, while Pattison pinned Blake Cotton in just 1:07. HHS had another good outing on the mats, but now prepare for another challenging tournament. On Friday and Saturday the Ponies will be in Cut Bank where they will attend the Cut Bank Invitational.
