Leadership High School was a success thanks to many

On April 1, 19 Havre High School juniors completed Leadership High School, following a very successful and informative morning of job shadowing throughout the Havre business community. They were then recognized at a luncheon held in their honor, highlighting the past six months of experiences. MSUNorthern Provost Dr. Joe Callahan and Northern Foundation Director Shauna Albrecht presented each student with a $1,000 tuition waiver, should they chose to attend Northern following their high school graduation next year. Thank you, Dr. Frank Trocki and Northern administration for this wonderful support of the Leadership High School Program. Leadership High School is a partnership between Havre High School and the Chamber of Commerce. The Leadership program completed a successful run of 10 years this week, providing the program to Havre High juniors. The partnership continues to shares a goal: To provide the opportunity for students to learn first-hand about the importance of involvement in one's community, to learn about the issues facing one's community, and how one can make a difference now and throughout life. Their commitment and support is sincerely appreciated. Leadership High School helps potential leaders become effective leaders. During the past 10 years, more than 200 students have completed the program with impressive results. The feedback from the students has been overwhelmingly positive! Congratulations to the following Havre High School juniors: Kade Barsotti, Ty Bauer, Brandon Brostrom, Faith Croasdell, Robin Davey, Danielle Faechner, Amber Frazier, Daniel Hanson, Kristian Honadel, Brooke Jappe, Brittanee Korb, Christina Mack, Ryan Myers, Andrea Nault, Chelsea Nottingham, Carson Pollington, Payton Robertson, Sabrina Robertson and Crysta Robinson. Havre business support, sponsorship and their belief in the value of Leadership High School, helps to sustain this vital youth program. Thank you to the council for being the driving force behind the ongoing success of the six-month program. The 11th class will be selected in May and the Leadership will start in October with the Retreat. Congratulations and good luck to the Leadership High School Class of 2009-2010.
