Rain delayed harvests, cut into quality

The same rain that brought what looked to be record harvests — in a time of good prices — set things back when the precipitation continued late into the season.

With rains delaying harvests weeks past the normal season, some farmers were finding they had to be planting their winter wheat at the same time that they were trying to finish bringing in their crops.
