May blood drive was a success
Last updated ERROR at ERROR
Thank you Havre/Hill County volunteers who give the gift of life at local blood drives.
The May drive had 110 successful donors with 134 presenting. The weather was beautiful, and many deferrals were due to low iron.
This is a common problem in the spring and summer. People are eating more cool foods like fresh fruit and salads, and since it is so nice outside, often we forget to hydrate. To ensure a successful donation, it is always wise to drink extra water or juice before coming in.
Woodrow McLean won a $25 IGA certificate sponsored by Devon Energy.
The next drive, July 12 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church Parish Hall from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., will have a signup to win another $25 IGA certificate and a personal laptop computer.
Havre is still the largest single-day blood draw in Montana. You truly are an amazing group of people.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Messiah Lutheran Church Auxiliary will be serving in the canteen for the July drive. Stockman Bank is the cookie sponsor.
Summer blood drives historically have fewer presenters. This has not held true here in Havre. Please give the gift of life and come to St. Jude's July 12 for sandwiches and a cookie.
Walk-ins are always welcome. To make an appointment call (800) 448-
3543. If you have any pre- or post-eligibility donation questions, please call the Donor and Client Support Center toll-free at (866) 236-3276 or e-mail [email protected] All inquiries are kept confidential.
