Annual Rotary Golf Camp coming to Havre in July

Weather is still an issue for golfers across the Hi-Line. However, leagues and tournaments have been happening.

Beaver Creek Golf Course, which had succumbed to the flood waters from Beaver Creek, was open for play through the weekend. The course was open to walking only at this time with no motorized carts allowed. Beaver Creek itself has gone down to just above normal flow levels, but is still running high.

Prairie Farms Golf Course was busy this past week. Men's league continued Tuesday and Wednesday as both night's are nearing the stretch run of the first half of the season. So playoff spots will be on the line throughout the next few weeks.

Women's league is also progressing on Thursday nights. This past week saw Stacey Sheppard earn low gross honors and Dixie Evans take home low net.

Prairie Farms was also the sight of the N.L.A.S Fundraiser Scramble on Sunday. Next up on the tourney circuit for Prairie Farms will be the Natalie Patrick Foundation Tournament June

19.

The Rotary Golf Camp is also coming to Prairie Farms July 6-8. The camp is open to ages 8-10, 11-13, 14 and up. Cost is $25.00 per person or $40.00 for 2 or more in immediate family. Covered will be fundamentals of golf, including chipping, putting, full swing, some rules of golf and etiquette. Contests and prizes will be awarded for each day. Camp is designed not only for beginners, but also for individuals looking to improve their game. Also, the final day will include a tourney and a barebeque lunch.

Sign up by calling Prairie Farms Golf Course at 265-4790. Doug Sheppard and Jim Kato will host the camp.

Note: The Havre Daily News sports department is seeking any additional golf information for its weekly golf column.

Please email or fax tournament results, league results, or story ideas by Sunday night for information to run in the next column.
