Budget hearing goes quietly
The Havre City Council held a public hearing on next year's $15.7 million proposed budget Monday night and no one came to ask any questions or make comments.
The hearing started at 7 p.m.
After some brief statements from a few council members and an unanswered appeal for input from the mostly empty room, the meeting was recessed at 7:05 p.m.
Council will vote on the budget Wednesday at 6 p.m. The spending plan calls for no major new programs and imposes no major cuts.
