Grizzly bears break into shed on ranch

Authorities say they suspect two young grizzly bears spotted at Floweree earlier this week broke into a shed north of Carter to get food.

A Chouteau County Sheriff's Office dispatcher says the bears on Saturday ate some pig feed in the shed on a ranch on the Teton River.

The dispatcher says officials with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks are setting two traps to catch the bears.

The bears were spotted Tuesday near the Missouri River at Floweree between Great Falls and Fort Benton and are thought to be 2-yearolds.

Wildlife officials with FWP say bears on the fringes of the core grizzly ecosystem in northcentral Montana are moving into new areas on all sides, but the development is more dramatic east of the Front because the country there is so open.
