Honored to support Hansen for state representative

Honored to support Hansen for state rep.

Editor:

I have never served my country in Africa for the CIA, but Kris Hansen has. I have never graduated with honors from law school, but Kris Hansen has. I have never clerked for a federal judge or a state Supreme Court justice, but Kris Hansen has. I have never served a tour of duty in a war zone as a captain with the Montana National Guard, but Kris Hansen has.

It has been my privilege to be a friend of Kris Hansen's for the last 10 years. In that time, I have seen someone whose life is full of integrity, hard work and service to others. She can often be heard to say, "It's about other people." This is the kind of person I am honored to support for House District 33.

Not only is Kris one of the most intelligent people I know, she is also full of compassion and grounded in integrity that stems from her faith in our creator.

Here is an example of that compassion which Kris would never tell you about. Several years ago there was a woman (who I'll call Sue) who had been invited to come to our church. Sue was young, unmarried and had a small child. They were living in a poverty-stricken area in a house where drugs and alcohol were abused daily. Sue wanted to get out but had no where to go. Kris invited Sue and her son into her own home to live until she could get on her feet. This is the kind of person Kris Hansen is.

Kris' life has been marked with service to others, hard work and integrity. These are some of the reasons I will be voting for Kris Hansen for House District 33, and I hope you will join me.
