Havre Daily News launches facebook page

As a way to keep members of the community more connected to the people and events that make it tick, The Havre Daily News is now on facebook.

Send your Internet browser to www.Facebook.com/havredailynews to view the paper's page, where any combination of community news, breaking news, feature stories and photos will be posted several times a day.

Some will link back to complete articles on the paper's website, www.

Havredailynews.com. Others will be items of interest that don't necessarily have a full story.

When you're done reading, you can post comments on how the information in the articles affects you.

The new page is part of the paper's effort to bring the community more news faster and more conveniently.

"People will be able to check breaking news throughout the day, and the paper will be able to reach more readers," Managing Editor John Kelleher said. "We'll be able to provide breaking news around the clock, and people will be able to stay connected to their community."

"It's exciting to be able to offer another avenue of obtaining news for community members," Publisher Martin Cody said.

Hopefully the facebook page will create a community dialogue about the issues it faces every day.

"Letters to the editor are great, but this provides immediate feedback.

People can tell the community their thoughts as they read the story," Kelleher said.
