Racist fliers irk some Billings residents

Some Billings residents are angry and frustrated after finding recruitment fliers for a white-supremacist group at a multicultural event. Officials say fliers promoting the Creativity Movement were posted on vehicle windshields last weekend at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Dinner. The fliers urged people to join the group as a way to preserve the "white race" and included a contact number from Illinois. Vonnie Anderson, who attended the Unity Dinner, says its disheartening to think some people are filled with such prejudice. Montana Human Rights Executive Director Travis McAdam says it's not uncommon for white-supremacist groups to circulate literature before Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Creativity Movement is among a handful of whitesupremacist groups that surface in Montana periodically.
