Rocky Boy officials are organizing efforts to deal with the results of flooding on the reservation.
The Jon Morsette Vo-Tech Center on the Stone Child College Campus is available for
residents who have been displaced by this high-water situation.
Meals will be provided at Stone Child College for families displaced by the floods.
Shower facilities are available at Stone Child College Gymnasium and Rocky Boy High School Gymnasium.
Due to a series of mainline breaks in the Lower Box Elder Road area under or near the creek
channels affected by the flood, the following communities on the reservation will be without
drinking water for up to three days:
Potable water stations are set up the Sybil Sangrey Colliflower Memorial
Area, Chippewa Cree Construction Corporation and the Jon Morsette Vo-Tech Center.
Water from the large distribution tanks is not for drinking. It is to be used for washing,
bathing and flushing only.
The Chippewa Cree Housing Authority will be open 24 hours a day for flood-related housing
problems only. Please call 395-4370 for assistance.
Tribal Health Clinic Services have been relocated to the Tribal Roads Department building (next to the Tribal Court) and can be contacted at 395-4490. Services are available on a walk-in basis for acute medical issues or concerns only. Limited dental care is available. WIC services
will be available by Wednesday. If you need a pharmacy refill call 395-4344.
Behavioral Health Services are available for refills and emergencies only; call 395-4490. Transportation, CHR and Diabetic Program Services can be reached at 395-4542 or 395-4420. EMS can be reached at the Law Enforcement Department, 395-4513. White Sky Hope Center and the Wellness Center are closed until further notice.
Chairman Raymond "Jake" Parker Jr. is requesting the patience and understanding of the entire community during this crisis.
Parker said he wants to assure the community that all tribal resources
are being mobilized to address tribal-wide and individual concerns and issues.
He said the Tribe was being "as proactive as possible while attempting to meet each and every essential need to maintain the safety and wellbeing of all reservation residents."
He said the main priorities are:
1) The safety of our tribal members;
2) The safety of our water delivery system;
3) The safety of our roads, dams and infrastructure;
4) The safety of our governmental and health care structures.
Parker said has contacted all relevant federal, state and local agencies to assist in our
efforts to mitigate the damages occurring from this disaster.
An emergency travel only mandate has been issued for the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation for the following roadways:
