Mariani among NFL leaders

In the offseason, the Tennessee Titans were looking from a better return game for 2010.

So far, the Titans have found it in former Havre Blue Pony Marc Mariani. After two weeks of regular season play, Mariani ranks ninth in kickoff return yards in the NFL. Mariani is averaging just over 24 yards per kick return with a long of 384 He's also seventh in punt return yards and is averaging 10.7 yards per return with a long of 38. Mariani broke his longest punt return last Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and while he did have one fumble in the game, Titans head coach Jeff Fisher was still pleased with his rookie's performance in Monday's press conference. Fisher said Mariani was on his way to securing the ball when it was knocked loose and that the Titans will continue to work on ball security every day in practice.

Tennessee faces the N.Y Giants Sunday at 11 a.m. in New York.
