Dortha May (Geesey) Naber

Dortha May (Geesey) Naber, 97, of Great Falls, a kitchen assistant at Cascade County Nursing Home, died on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at a local care facility of natural causes.

Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel one hour prior to her funeral service at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Dortha was born March 30, 1913, 22 miles north of Inverness, Mont.,where she was raised. She married Fritz Naber in Havre, Mont., in 1936. They divorced in 1950.

Dortha worked at the Cascade County Nursing Home until retirement in 1979.

She loved flowers, enjoyed quilting and made 23 quilts for her family after she retired.

Survivors include her daughters, Delores Mercer of Great Falls and Sharon Davis of Wichita, Kan .; a son, Delbert Naber; a sister, Maxine Naber, both of Havre; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Versa Geesey; her brother, Elwin Geesey, and her sisters, Mary Geesey, Minnie Stanberry and Wilma Ball.

The family suggests memorials in Dortha's name to donor's choice.
