Eleanor Mary (Diemert) Wendland, 87, a former Rudyard area farmwife and mother of 17, who moved to Three Forks in 1990, remained active in her Christian faith throughout her life, and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and baking, died of natural causes at her home in Three Forks on Friday, Aug. 20.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Three Forks. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the Hingham Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday and will end at noon Wednesday at the Rockman Funeral Chapel in Chester.

Survivors are eight sons, John, Michael and Gregory Wendland of Rudyard, Nicholas and Peter Wendland of Casper, Wyo., Jerome Wendland of Park City, Francis Wendland of Bozeman, and Sylvester Wendland of Corvallis, Ore.; six daughters, Mary Bunek of Lawrenceville, Ga., Caroline Barker of Laurel, Theresa Ketron of Flora Vista, N.M., Martha Kantorowicz of Columbia Heights, Minn., Barbara Wright of Grand Marias, Minn., and Elizabeth Davis of Willow Creek; one sister, Lorena Wendland of Three Forks; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan, and three children, Leon, Lawrence and Katherine.
