Crystal Rose Russette, 30, died July 22, 2010, from injuries she received in a motor vehicle accident. Her wake service began Sunday afternoon with her funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Russette Family Cemetery. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Crystal Russtte " Baby Rose, Rose Breath, C-Toes," whose Indian name was Thunder Woman Coming, was born in Havre, Mont., Nov. 19, 1979. to Wanda Deswood and David Russette. She resided in many places ranging from Rocky Boy to Thoreau and Albuquerque, N.M. She attended Rocky Boy High School where she cheered on the Rocky Boy Stars. While enrolled in Rocky Boy High School, she was involved in many math and science programs, where she traveled to Alaska and Costa Rica. She then moved and was awarded a high school diploma from Freedom High School in Albuquerque, N.M.

Crystal enlisted into the United States Navy in 2001 and was stationed in Guam on the USS Frank Cable and the USS George Washington in Virginia Beach and was honorably discharged in 2006 as a machinist mate and petty officer second class. She continued her journey living in Great Falls, Mont .; Tacoma, Wash. and Tucson, Ariz., where she worked numerous jobs, usually two at a time, becoming known as a "Jill of all trades." In 2009, Crystal came home to Rocky Boy, Mont. and enrolled in Stone Child College, where she would have graduated in May 2011 with an associate degree in natural resources.

Crystal loved the ocean, astrology, reading, watching scary movies, outdoor cookouts, eating barbecue, pedicures, traveling, playing video games with her nephew Aidan, tattoos, cheerleading, music, concerts, gambling and playing bingo with her grandparents and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Natoni and Rose Deswood; her sister, Athena Galbavy; and her brothers, Beej Decora and JR Joe.

Crystal is survived by her parents, Wanda (Orlando) Deswood and David (Mary) Russette; sisters, Tashina, Sasha, Lita, Falene, Gevy, Svannah, Abigail and Shalee Russette. Dodie, Ton, and Munch Crow; Kyona and Jayda Deswood. Kendra and Baby Vickie Joe, Tiff Galbavy and Nicole LaMere all of Rocky Boy, Mont .; brothers, Jamiah Deswood, Chublet, Giblet, Brennan, Blue and Spencer Russette. Jonas, Macon and Jessie Crow. Otis, Julio, Lance, and Troy Decora. Pete Houle, Damien, Isiah, Isaac and Raven Deswood and Valdez Joe all of Rocky Boy, Mont .; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
