Kris Hansen is a unique person — she should be elected

I met Kris Hansen in combat in

2007. She immediately impressed me with her direct manner and genuine interest in people.

We were both assigned to serve under an Army aviation unit in Iraq.

However, Kris was assigned to an active Army unit as an individual volunteer for combat from a non-deploying Montana National Guard unit. This surprised me — not many people choose to go into combat with a new team; but, I soon learned, Kris was unique in many ways.

Adopted at birth and raised in a devout Christian family, her choice to join the CIA after graduating from college was certainly a departure from the average. She served the CIA in Somalia during the fall of Mogadishu and left the CIA in 1995 to pursue an advanced degree to practice law.

She clerked for Justice John Warner in 2003 and by 2007 she was working for a law firm in Bozeman.

Kris served in combat for 12 months as a lawyer for soldiers, called JAG, and I was able to see the kind of persistence and passion she puts into her work in this venue. Kris took personal time to work with soldiers in areas normally outside of the scope of JAG duties to help with pay problems, financial struggles and family problems they were having back home.

She is also a tenacious researcher to find the correct answers to solve real problems and guided many soldiers through legal difficulties.

Kris is candid and devoted to duty.

She currently serves the people of House District 33 as the Deputy County Attorney, and now I serve her as the treasurer for her campaign. As a veteran and former Army aviator, I will vote Kris Hansen for House District 33!
