Lucy Meiwald

Lucy Meiwald, 80, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes. Her wake service was Monday night at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church, and the funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at Rocky Boy Cemetery. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Lucy was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Rocky Boy, Mont., to John and Elizabeth (Nomee) Parker.

She was raised and educated in Rocky Boy and at tended Flandreau School in South Dakota. She married Donald Miewald on June 22, 1972, in Idaho. The couple made their home in Rocky Boy and raised their family. Lucy worked for the Indian Health Services and retired after 25 years of dedication.

She enjoyed reading mysteries, cooking and going to yard sales. She collected a variety of cookbooks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerry Corcoran; five brothers; and one sister.

Lucy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Donald Meiwald of Rocky Boy, Mont .; her son, Robert Meiwald, of Mandree, N.D .; her sisters, Betty (Don) Wetsit, Anna (Allan) Crain and Mary Ann (Ervin) Whiteford, all of Rocky Boy, Mont .; two brothers, Paul (Darlene) Parker and John (Helen) Parker, both of Rocky Boy, Mont .; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
