Harlem couple takes No-Tap Mixed Doubles title

The No-Tap Mixed Doubles ended Sunday with Ivol Jackson and Arlene Ball of Harlem remaining in first with their 1,778. Chris Drew and Roman Surber finished in second with 1,703 followed by: Lainie Fitzpatrick and Kyle Surber 1,698; Tammy Pozega and Larry Schmidt 1,640; Tammy Pozega and Andy Owens 1,626; Lainie Fitzpatrick and Kelly Olson 1,620; Michele Denny and Jason McDonald 1,614; and Ginger Zanto and Minnow Mariani 1,609. Kelly Kulick made it into the top four and bowled for the championship against Chris Barnes. Kelly not only beat Chris to become the first woman champion of the PBA and a major winner, she embarrassed him, a 260 something to 190 something. Go Kelly!! Holdens will be hosting their Scotch Doubles this weekend. Shift times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Bantams bowl three games and all others bowl four. A youth and an adult bowl each game with one throwing the first ball and the second throwing the pick-up. Keiton Kirkegard shot a 133; Aaron Erickson 125, 298; Cole Schlotfeldt 302; Shayn Crowder 207; and Addison Kinsella 155. Shayn Crowder picked a 6-8-10. The Lucky Strikers lead the league fowllowed by: Team 5; 2 Gals and a Guy; The Knuckleheads; (Tie) - The Chosen Ones, Super Sliders. Junior/Major highs: Mark Morrell 185, 462; Ramsey Drew 173; Spencer Morkrid 162, 455; and Ryne Antley 414. Aja Drew had a 129, 306; Savannah Rudio 127, 124, 337; and Aitana Moore 313. Big Bl is ahead of the Chick Magnets and Alleycats by two games who are leading the Stud Muffins by two who are ahead of That One Team by one over Awesome 0 3000 by six. Damion Breen bumped two spares and a 91 on the PeeWees. Richard Breen had an 83 with a spare and Lane Kinsella had a spare and an 81. Derek Olson bumped a 78 with a spare and Shea Reber had a 77. Men's City Tourney is scheduled for Feb. 20-21. A Team event will be held on Wednesday night the 17th. More team events, doubles, and singles will be bowled on the weekend. More details will follow in the upcoming weeks. Snowy Lanes at Lewistown is holding their Budweiser Hdcp Tourney Jan. 30-31, Feb. 6-7, 13-14,and 20-21. Norma Mariani had a 201, 539; Lisa Morrell 203; Lorna Bjerga 201; Jackie Mayer 503; Chris Drew 508; Tammy Pozega 503; and Michale Beck 529 and 521. Ken Riska's 252 and 681 by Roy Hamilton were the men's highs. Riska had a 641 and Hamilton a 234, 243, and 235. Kelly Olson had an 826; Roy Hamilton 780; and Shawn Mariani 837. It's nice to see Don Jones and Lorna Bjerga back in action. Diane Hamilton is still on the mend and we hope she'll be back soon.
