Breaking news: Northern 20 Western 3

Derek Lear threw two touchdown passes to Brandon O'Brien to lead the Northern Lights to a 20-3 win over UM Western at Dillon Saturday.

The game was delayed because of the threat of lightening during the second quarter.

The win breaks a seven-losing streak for the Lights. They are 1-0 on the season.

Senior cornerback Casey Varner had three interceptions to lead the Lights' defense.
