Breaking Sports: Northwest U. 86, Skylights 77

The second day of the Duck Inn/JDRF Classic wasn't as kind to the Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team as the first. On Friday afternoon at the MSU-Northern Fieldhouse, the Skylights dropped their first game of the year, losing to Northwest University 86-77.

Northwest had an 8-point lead at halftime and balooned that lead to as many as 14 in the seocnd half before Northern clawed its way back in. But the Eagles held MSU-N off down the stretch.

In the loss, MSU-N got 27 points from Taylor Keller and 22 from Samm Schermele. The Eagles were paced by Emily Drivstuen's game-high 28 points. Northern wraps up tournament play Saturday against LaSierra at 7 p.m.
