Clara Lowen

Clara Belle Armstrong Lowen, 88, died Saturday morning, Nov. 6, 2010,at Northern Montana Care Center.

Her service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Pastor Rowlie Hutton presiding. A fellowship gathering will be conducted immediately following the memorial service.

Clara was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Comanche, Mont., to Francis W. Armstrong and Gladys F. (Zimmerman) Armstrong. She started first grade at the Comanche School in 1927, and later attended school north of Havre, where she eventually graduated from high school.

Clara met Francis M. Lowen, and they were married in Fort Benton on Nov. 22, 1942.

She worked many years in retail and enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, ceramics,

decorating and camping in the Bear's Paw Mountains with family and friends. Clara was actively involved as a Cub Scout leader, parent volunteer for her children's school activities and events and later in life as an election judge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Francis M. Lowen.

Survivors include daughter, Audrey F. (Frank) Meiwald of Kalispell; sons, Charles D.

(Vickie) Lowen and James L. (Susan) Lowen, all of Havre; siblings, Herbert F. (Mary) Armstrong of Billings, Earl J. (Annette) Armstrong Sr. of Babb, and Doris G. Crocker of Great Falls; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; and numerous step great-

grandchildren.

Memorials can be given in Clara's name to the chapel fund at Northern Montana Care Center, the Havre Beaver Creek Park Foundation or an individual's personal choice.

Services have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
