Big Sandy was eliminated from the Class C six-man football championships, losing to Savage 41-38 in a thrilling semifinal game Saturday afternoon in Big Sandy.
Trevor Lackner threw four TD passes and rushed for another in the losing cause for the Pioneers who finished 9-2 on the season. Ryan Miller also ran for a score and caught a TD pass from Lackner. Big Sandy trailed 14-0 early on and 33-20 at halftime, but rallied to have a chance to win in the final minutes of the game.
Savage (10-1) moves on to the Six-Man state championship game next Saturday.
