CTEP hearing set before tonight's council meeting

Havre City Council will meet a half hour earlier tonight at 6:30 p.m. to hear what the public wants to do with Community Transportation Enhancement Program money.

The council opened the discussion last month to allow people to come up with ideas, get estimates for project costs and find ways to pay the 13.84 percent local matching fund required by the state for those funds.

The council will hear what people came up with tonight so they can have a proposal sent to the state by the end of the year, with the hope of having a project move forward over the summer.

The hearing will be followed by a regular council meeting, with the first reading of an ordinance including casinos in the Commercial-Local District Permitted Uses statute.
