Mariani racks up yards against ex-teammates

The Tennessee Titans suffered their second straight road loss Sunday as they fell to the Miami Dolphins 29-17 in Miami.

But former Havre Blue Pony marc Mariani was plenty busy competing against some old friends. Sunday's game between the Titans and Dolphins reunited Mariani with former Grizzly teammates Dan Carpenter and Lex Hilliard, and they went head-to-head. Carpenter, Miami's Pro Bowl kicker fed Mariani four kickoffs, and the former UM wide receiver dazzled his old teammates with some nifty moves to the tune of 92 yards. The ex-Griz teammates were also at a stalemate twice as Carpenter boomed two kicks out of the endzone for touchbacks, thwarting the dangerous Mariani.

However, Mariani still had a big day, racking up 153 total yards, including 61 on punt returns. Mariani not only broke several long kickoff returns, but also broke off a 37-yard punt return during, his second-longest punt return of the season.

The Titans return home to face the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
