Breaking Sports: Lights upset UGF

The scoreboard read 24-24 at the end of Thursday night's college wrestling dual between the Montana State University-Northern Lights and the University of Great Falls Argos at the MSU-Northern Fieldhouse, but thanks to a pin by heavyweight Rudy Schaffroth in the final seconds of the last match of the night, the Lights are now winners against the Argos for the first time in three years.

Northern won the dual via more six-point wins than UGF, and the Lights needed all six points from Schaffroth in order to pull it off. Trailing UGF 24-18 after MSU-N's Kody Reed won at 197 pounds, Schafforth battled UGF's Juan Enriquez deep into the third period before putting Enriquez on his back for the six points needed to take the dual.

Cameron Neiss (133) and Jared Miller (174) also got pins for the Lights, while Anthony Weerheim and Reed won matches as well. Northern forfeited the 125-pound class to start the dual and was behind 21-9 heading into the 174-pound bout.
