The Facts: Chinook rolled up over 400 of yards of offense, most coming in the first half as the Beeters exploded for 44 first-quarter points, a Class C state championship record. Chinook's defense also held the Longhorns to just 143 total yards. Wibaux came into Saturday's game averaging over 240 yards per game, on the ground. Chinook earned its first-ever state title in football Saturday. In the history of Beeter football, the school has played at the Class A level when all schools that weren't AA were grouped together, then played at the Class B level up until 2004. Wibaux has now finished second in Class C three straight years and the Longhorns played in seven championship games this decade. Chinook's only loss in 2010 came at the hands of Fort Benton, 44-24 back on Sept. 18. The Beeters' 11-1 record not only included a state championship, but the best overall win-loss season in school history,

The Cold: Temperatures likely didn't reach 10 degrees above during the game and wind chills were estimated to be around -10 degrees. Snow fell throughout much of the day and wins were moderate to breezy. The playing surface at Hoon, while clear before the opening kickoff, was considered frozen due to the arctic air and moisture which had moved into Montana earlier in the week.
