Casino robbery suspect arrested, again

Merrill Gray, who was released on a bond last Saturday and pleaded not guilty on Monday to the armed robbery of the Magic Diamond Casino, is back in the Hill County Detention Center.

An anonymous caller informed the police department on Thursday night that Gray was in a 1st Street establishment, a violation of the conditions of his release from the detention center.

He was arrested at 11:55 p.m. on charges of violation of conditions of release.

Gray had been arrested on Nov. 4 for the Oct. 19 casino robbery and was being held on $20,000 bond. He paid a nonrefundable, 10 percent paper bond of $2,000 on Saturday and was released.

During Gray's arraignment on Monday, Judge Rice allowed Gray special permission to travel within Hill and Blaine counties, so that he could visit his child in Fort Belknap and attend a custody hearing on Tuesday.
