A special celebration will be held Tuesday at the Havre City-County Airport — known in the advertisement as the North Pole — for the re-grand opening of Great Lakes Airlines in Havre.

The event, set to include a special visit by Santa Claus, will feature the new direct flight from Havre to Denver by Great Lakes, the Essential Air Services provider for Montana.

Lunch and refreshments, provided by Great Lakes and Bear Paw Development Corp. will be served at the event. It is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the airport, three miles west of Havre off of U.S. Highway 2 at 5404 9th St. West.

Registration for two free round-trip tickets to Denver also will be available at the barbecue.

Effective Nov. 1, Great Lakes changed the first destination of flights departing Havre from Billings to Denver. One short stop in Wyoming is made en route.

Great Lakes has reported significant increases in the number of passengers since switching the destination from Billings to Denver.
