Mariani helps Titans get back on track

Marc Mariani upped his already high kickoff return average, but what mattered most to him was the win.

Mariani averaged 30 yards per kickoff return in his final home game of the season at LP Field in Nashville, but more importantly, the Tennessee Titans snapped a six-game losing streak by beating the Houston Texans 31-17 Sunday afternoon in Nashville.

Mariani returned three kickoffs for 90 total yards on Sunday, including a long of 41 yards. The Titans also scored on two of his returns. As the lading punt returner in the AFC however, Mariani didn't get many chances against the Texans, fielding just one punt for two yards.

The Titans (6-8) are back in action this Sunday when they travel to Kansas City.
