Thanks to Christmas decorators

Editor:

I would like to thank the people and businesses of Havre who have taken the time to decorate so that members of our community could enjoy the Christmas season with them.

When my, now grown, children were young, we would load them up in the car and take them and my mother around to see the many decorations. We would go up and down the streets and sometimes have to go two nights to see all the sights. Young and old, we enjoyed this tradition, and it was something to which we looked forward.

Through the years, there have been fewer and fewer decorations to enjoy. Many people seem to be losing this way of sharing the season with others. It seems as things get more and more commercial, the sharing and giving of the season gets much less. Also, I know, many people have given up because the vandals have taken away their joy in giving this gift to others.

Whether it be a simple decoration or one of the elaborate yards, I wanted to let you know that I still appreciate this gift and the time, effort and cost it takes you to accomplish the display.

I would also like to commend District IV Human Resources Development Council for the wonderful decorations they displayed this year. My grandchildren and I had a truly wonderful time walking down the halls and stepping into the fantasy you created. Some absolutely great imagination and creativity went into this work. I hope it is continued next year and that more people will stop in and walk down the halls. It truly is worth a trip just to see.

Again, thank you to all who have helped keep this tradition alive in Havre.
