Breaking Sports: Lights 83, Black Hills 75

The MSU-Northern men's basketball team has had chances to beat several highly-ranked NAIA opponents this season. On Wednesday night, Northern fianlly knocked down that door. MSU-N beat seventh-ranked NAIA DII powerhouse Black Hills State 83-75 on the first day of the AmericInn Classic at the MSU-Northern Fieldhouse.

The win aveneged a loss at BHSU back in November, and upped the Lights overall record to 9-4 on the season. MSU-N was down by as many as 12 points in the second half, but stormed back via a 20-4 run.

Junior Shaun tatarka led four Lights in double figures with 15 points, while Joe Simpson had 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Lights play on Thursday night when they host Lethbridge at 6 p.m.
