Small business workshop to focus on opportunities for women

Another small business workshop has been set by U. S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., with the focus of this session on women entrepreneurs.

"As we strengthen Montana's small businesses by empowering them with tools needed to create more jobs, we also need to expand opportunities for the thousands of Montana women looking to start or jumpstart their own companies, " Tester said in a release announcing the workshop. "Women business owners face some unique challenges and opportunities. And this workshop will provide resources and ideas from folks who have a strong record of creating jobs through successful small businesses. "

The workshop is set for Friday, July 22, in Billings at the Montana State University Billings downtown campus. It will run from 8 a. m. to 1 p. m.

The agenda includes marketing and branding, social media use and access to capital, with Montana women business owners as well as experts in business administration presenting.

The release said that more than 1,500 Montana companies and individuals have attended Tester's previous workshops in Great Falls, Bozeman, Kalispell, Billings and Missoula.

The workshop is free and open to the public, and people interested in attending are encouraged to R. S.V. P. online at tester.senate.gov/workshop.
