Men's hockey takes center ice in Havre

The 2011 Hi-Line Hell Freeze hockey tournament housed two Havre teams, and in the five-team field, both squads did very well.

The three-day tournament brought 12 games to the Havre Ice Dome Friday-Saturday. Havre Blue made the championship game, but fell to Helena 5-3. And Havre Gray made the consolation game and defeated Bozeman 9-4.

Ben Ralls, JR Morse, Hailey McLain, Jarrett McLain, Matt McMullen, Jesse Majeres, Mark Majeres, Kyle Miller, Shane Kemmer, Dylan McLain, Chase Hanson, Chad Hanson, Tyler Christiansen, Drew Bradshaw, Chris Patera and Andy Hanson all made up Havre Gray.

And making up Havre Blue was Dusty Heath, Ryan Riley, Hans Hanson, Michelle Armstrong, Eric mcLain, Cody Nagel, Tyler Boyce, Cody McLain, Jared Boyce, Mark Larson, Brett Patrick and Brian Levhardt.

Before making the championship game on Sunday, Havre Blue had to first face Helena on Friday and Bozeman, Great Falls and Havre Gray on Saturday. And while Helena defeated Havre Blue 10-3, they rebounded and defeated Bozeman 7-3, Great Falls 8-1 and Havre Gray 9-4.

Havre Blue earned the No. 2 seed with six points, but fell to Helena for the second time.

On the road to the consolation game, Havre Gray first defeated Great Falls 4-1 on Friday. On Saturday, they defeated Bozeman 7-4, fell to Helena 4-1 and fell to Havre Blue 9-4. Havre Gray earned four points and grabbed the No. 3 seed before defeating Bozeman for the second time and moving into second place.
