Hope is for trains to be running full-scale by end of week
Amtrak tentatively plans to resume Empire Builder service by Thursday

Representatives from Amtrak and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway say they hope to be up to full speed later this week, after a weather-caused slowdown for BNSF and a temporary shutdown of Amtrak's Empire Builder.
Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said that, as of this morning, the passenger rail service plans to have the Empire Builder, which runs from Chicago to Seattle and Portland, Ore., running both directions by Thursday.
