Silent auction to be held at Stone Child College

A silent auction being held Wednesday at Stone Child College in Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation will offer people a chance help out the college and at the same time get ready for spring.

"We tried to find things that would help for Mother's Day," said Mary Lou Rosette, the retention coordinator at the college.

Many of the items would make perfect gifts for high school and college graduates also, she said.

The auction will run from 11 a. m. to 6 p. m. at the campus' Vo-Tech Center.

A 12-foot-by-12-foot deck worth $2,500 will be one of the items for auction, she said.

There will also be all kinds of baskets.

"We have a basket for golfers, but many other baskets as well," she said.

Numerous pieces of artwork have been donated, she said, including work by Jesse Henderson and Douglas Standing Rock.

"They are all framed and look really pretty," she said.

All kinds of food will be auctioned off, she said.

Havre and Rocky Boy businesses and local artists donated the items that will be sold, she said.
