Havre High's Sadie Seidel (left) goes up high for a kill during a volleyball match against Conrad last month in Havre. Seidel, a junior hitter has been one of Havre's leaders on offense this season.

But it isn't just Seidel's hitting that has given the Ponies a boost, Seidel is also one of the top servers on the team, earning four more aces last weekend against Browning and two more against Lewistown on Friday.

Seidel is also a factor on defense, as she earned the team award last season for most digs, grabbing 200 a season ago. She was also All Conference Honorable Mention last season.

Seidel also tried her hand at track and field as a freshman and basketball as a freshman and sophomore. But as she progressed as a volleyball player, Seidel has narrowed her focus to just the one sport.

Here's five questions with Sadie Seidel as she and her Ponies get ready to host the Central A Divisional

HDN: What is it you like so much about the game of volleyball?

Seidel: "I just love the sport and we are such a close team. It is fun to be around my teammates all the time and get to play volleyball."

HDN: Who is your favorite opponent to face during the season and why?

Seidel: "Lewistown. They are our rivals and those games are always so much more intense than the other games. I think we play up to their level when we play them and we try a lot harder because we know they are good and we want to beat them so much more."

HDN: What do you have to do as a team to be successful at the divisional tournament this weekend?

Seidel: "I think if we have good energy and stay positive, we will be ok. We have to stay up, and I think we lose energy a lot and get too quiet. We have stay loud and stay energetic."

HDN: A kill is one of the most exciting plays in volleyball, how does earning a spike excite a team and change the momentum?

Seidel: "As a hitter it is the rush of it, you turn around to your team and are like 'yeah!' And if you pass the ball you are proud for starting the ball, and if you set the ball you have to proud of the set. And if you are another hitter watching the kill you get excited because you know how it feels. It is just a rush."

HDN: How do you think the Blue Pony team has improved over the season?

Seidel: "I think our ball control has gotten a lot better. That helps a lot by keeping the play going and helps us play more consistent."
