New pet law flies through to council

The Ordinance Committee substantially cut down the turn-around time on city pet ordinance updates, sending the new law along for council approval after only two meetings of discussion.

The new ordinance is the product of concerns raised by Mayor Tim Solomon, City Prosecutor Tamara Barkus, City Judge Margaret Hencz and Animal Control Officer Gordon Inabnit.

All of these suggestors were at Wednesday's meeting at the committee's request to discuss the proposed changes.
