Thank you for supporting July 4th festivities

Editor:

Here I sit on the morning of July 5, pondering yesterday's 10th annual Fourth of July Music Festival. I don't know how to thank each and everyone who attended our event. We had 1,300-1,400 people in attendance this year.

A huge thank-you to everyone who filled the donation cans and to our local businesses for their generous monetary and raffle prizes donations. I am awed by our community's generosity. I would like to point out that not only did we have some of our Canadian neighbors join our celebration again this year, but a couple from Great Britain also was among our guests.

How's that for celebrating our independence from them? Thank you, Vince, for all the legwork that went into organizing this event and Woody for organizing the music.

I would also like to thank the vets, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for their presentation of the color guard and Donna Tilleman for singing our national anthem.

Thank you to the people who set up activities for the kids. They had a lot of fun. I want to apologize for changing my mind on raffling the huge beach ball. The kids had so much fun playing with it we decided to keep it for next year.

To all of you who stepped up and helped with cooking and serving the food, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are the best.

Last, but definitely not least, a big thank you to the bands for providing a great mix of music. It was a fun day, and I look forward to seeing you all back next year.
