Rehberg to chair an appropriations subcommittee

HELENA — Montana Congressman Denny Rehberg has been appointed chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee that deals with about a quarter of federal spending.

Rehberg says he was appointed chairman of the House Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies.

He says he will use his post to fight for reduced spending and improved oversight.

Rehberg will also sit on the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Subcommittee and the Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee.
