For many teams across the Hi-Line this weekend kicked off the 2011 football season.

But for the Northern C 8-Man Chinook Sugarbeeters, this was week two, which meant another dominating win in an attempt to repeat as the Class C state champions.

On Friday the Beeters were on the road in Fort Benton, facing the Longhorns. And while many fans across the state figured the Longhorns to be a true test, the Beeters passed with flying colors. Chinook jumped out to a 22-9 first quarter lead, and stretched the deficit to 52-9 at the halfway point. The Beeters added two more scores in the second half to grab the 66-16 win.

Ben Stroh was the big name making headlines again this weekend. Stroh rushed for 174 yards and found his way into the endzone three more times. He scored in the first quarter on a 79-yard kick return, before scoring twice in the second quarter. Stroh scored on a 25-yard run and a 19-yard run to cap off another big night on the gridiron.

Zach Molyneaux also had another huge outing. Molyneaux scored four touchdowns for the Beeters, including his longest on a 25-yard rushing score in the second quarter. Molyneaux also scored on a six-yard run, a two-yard run and a seven-yard run.

Robby Klingaman and Jacob Maclean added one touchdown each as the Beeters moved to 2-0 on the season. Chinook will play again on Saturday when they host Cascade in Chinook.

Chester/J-I 58, Sunburst 14

The Northern C 8-Man Chester/J-I Hawks also had a huge win on Friday night in Chester, as they went on to defeat the rival Sunburst Refiners 58-14 in their season debut.

The Hawks put up 18 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second to take a 32-0 lead at the half. And the Hawks went on to score 20 more in the third and six more in the fourth to, making the win more and more dominant with every point.

"The win was good," C/J-I head coach Jim Vinson said. "I think we knocked a little bit of rust off and I was very pleased with the kids. Game one of the season you sometimes expect a couple sloppy moments, but I don't think we played sloppy football. We were very well disciplined."

Mike Henke scored three times and Leonard Pugsley had his hand in three more scores for C/J-I. Henke reeled in a 49-yard pass from Pugsley for a score, as well as a 65-yard pass from Pugsley for a score. Henke also returned an interception for a 25-yard score. Pugsley also had a 32-yard run for a score to help lead the Hawks past the Refiners.

Erik Kelly also scored twice for the Hawks, while Cole Tempel also added a touchdown. Kelly's touchdowns came on a 59-yard run and an eight-yard run, while Tempel scored on a two-yard rush.

The Hawks' defense was stiff Friday night and didn't allow a score until 4:21 was left in the third quarter. The other Refiner touchdown came in the fourth quarter when the game was already well tucked away.

Chester now sits at 1-0 on the season and will take to the road on Saturday to face Centerville.

Hot Springs 46, North Star 0

Saturday in Hot Springs, the Class C 6-Man North Star Knights weren't as fortunate in their season opener, as they fell to Hot Springs 46-0.

The Savages came out and jumped all over the Knights, posting 14 quick points in the first quarter. They added 24 in the second and eight in the third, as the Knight got shutout in their season opener.

North Star gave up a score on a kick return, as well as three rushing touchdowns and two in the air as the Knights' defense had their hands full all afternoon.

The Knights (0-1) will host Augusta on Saturday.

Big Sandy 36, Terry 12

The Big Sandy Pioneers were also in action on Saturday, but brought a win back to the Class C 6-Man column. The Pioneers defeated Terry 36-12 in Big Sandy, giving them a 1-0 start to the season.

Trevor Lackner was a monster through the air on Saturday for the Pioneers. Lackner passed for four touchdowns, including a 15 yarder, a 40 yarder, a 48 yarder and a 37 yarder. Lackner also returned a punt 40 yards for a touchdown.

Justin Stevens was on the receiving end of two of Lackners' touchdown passes (40 yards and 37-yards), and also punched in a rushing touchdown from two-yards out.

Zack Leader also scored, grabbing the 15-yard pass and score from Lackner, while Dallas Briese grabbed the 48-yard touchdown pass from Lackner.

Big Sandy is 1-0 on the season and will travel to Savage on Saturday.
