Election interest focuses on Ward 3, still time to vote

It is election day and time for at least a quarter of Havre's voters to exercise their democratic power in Ward 3.

While nothing too exciting is expected to come out of wards 1, 2 and 4, where candidates Bonnie Parenteau, Brian Barrows and Andrew Brekke are running unopposed, Ward 3 will be getting the attention as the only contested race between Democratic incumbent Bob Kaul and Republican challenger Rick Dow.

People can still bring their ballots into the Clerk and Recorder's Office in the Hill County Courthouse by 8 p. m., though it is too late to mail ballots.

After the polls, at the courthouse, close and the ballots are all counted at 8 p. m. tonight, the Havre Daily News will be providing the details of what happens tonight, both from the counting at the courthouse and from the political party events around town.

So readers don't have to wait until Wednesday's paper to know their next council, the Havre Daily News will be leveraging all of the digital tools at the paper's disposal, regularly updating the website, http://www.havredailynews.com; Facebook profile at facebook.com/havredailynews and Twitter page at twitter.com/HavreDaily.

For more in-depth coverage of the results and what some people have to say about them, see Wednesday's Havre Daily News.
