Residents enjoying the last days of summer

Area residents have been taking advantage summer after a long, cool and rainy spring turned into more enjoyable weather, including children playing in city parks and people camping in the Bear's Paw Mountains, before the school year starts in again the end of this month.

Beaver Creek Park Superintendent Chad Edgar said during a meeting of the Hill County Park Board Monday that people have been using the park since things got dry enough to repair and open campgrounds damaged by the spring flooding.

"Lots of reserved sites have been rented, Kiwanis has been very busy, nonstop, " Edgar said. "Just generally the park has been extremely busy. I think people are taking advantage of getting out and absorbing as much park as they can. "

The National Weather Service forecasts that people still should have some time to enjoy the weather, with mostly sunny days and some clear nights, with chances of thunderstorms sprinkled throughout, for the region.

The highs through the weekend are predicted to be in the low to upper 80s, with lows forecast in the upper 40s to 50s.
