Mark Vukasin has been playing baseball his entire life. And while he is entering just his second season with the Havre North Stars American Legion baseball team, he has been an important addition.

Vukasin moved back to Havre from Las Vegas in time to play and start for the North Stars all last season. And he had an immediate impact. He is part of the starting pitching rotation as well as takes his place on the hot corner as the third baseman. And while Vukasin has been an integral part of the both the North Star's offense and defense over the summer, he also dons a Blue Pony football uniform during the fall, as a wide receiver and defensive back.

But right now, it's baseball that's on Vukasin's mind. He's helped spark the North Stars to a 5-3 start to the season, and he'll try and continue to pace Havre at this weekend's North Stars Memorial Tournament at Legion Field.

Here's five questions with Vukasin, a do-it-all man for the North Stars.

HDN: What do you like most about the game of baseball?

Vukasin: "I like everything about it. I enjoy being out on the field hitting the ball or even just throwing the baseball. It is just fun to play and I have played it all my life. I really have a good time playing it."

HDN: What personal and team goals do you have for this season?

Vukasin: "A team goal would be getting this new team to work together so we can shoot for state. And a personal goal would be to improve my hitting from last season and hit above .500."

HDN: Which position do you enjoy playing the most?

Vukasin: "I am not the biggest fan of pitching because I don't throw too fast and I get hit a lot. But I really like third base a lot more because I like to make big plays and make it look good and have fun."

HDN: Is there a professional MLB player you got your style of play from or really looked up to?

Vukasin: "I would have to say Troy Tulowitzki, the short stop for the Colorado Rockies, I kind of got a little style from him. He really works hard and has a cannon for an arm and I really look up to that."

HDN: Which opponent do you look forward to playing the most throughout the season?

Vukasin: "I don't really have a specific opponent, every game is a challenge and all we really want to do is go out and try to win."
